The Hong Kong Aircrew Officers Association was first registered as a Trade Union in 1963 to represent Pilots and Flight Engineers employed by Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. The Association continues to be the only representative body for Cathay Pacific Pilots that is recognised by the management of Cathay Pacific Airways. Our constructive engagement with the Company continues to deliver beneficial agreement on issues of importance to all Cathay Pacific Pilots.

In 2010 the HKAOA went through a major restructuring excercise to adapt to Cathay Pacific's establishing bases onshore in Australia, Canada and Europe.  This restructuring has driven the establishment of a number of independent Trade Unions federated under an Executive Council - AOA Exco.  

Currently, the AOA Exco represents over 1800 members based in Hong Kong, Europe, North America and Australasia.
